Description Technical Specs

The second generation E-Scope® II Headphone has just been released. It is the perfect alternative for users with a hearing loss that utilize inner ear hearing aids. It features a convenient headphone set that fits over the ears and plugs into the control module which clips smartly onto the users belt or waistband (similar to a cell phone clip). It is intended for general clinical use, medical education, Telemedicine and paramedic use in ambulances and medical helicopters. It amplifies the heart, breath, bowel or korotkoff sounds without amplifying outside noise. The E-Scope® II has maximum amplitude or sound pressure level output of 120 dBa without distortion. Additionally, heart or lung sounds are amplified without appreciable amplification of room or background noise. This makes it much easier to hear a low, rumbling murmur or faint AI blows. Please note: Headphones are not included, see options below.

E Scope March 11, 2016
Reviewer: dawn handy-manus from fontana, CA United States
I have used a E Scope by Cardionics for the past 12 years now. I am an RN and hearing impaired. This stethoscope has allowed me to continue in this profession. It allows me to hear the most precise sounds in lungs and heart, that I otherwise would not be able to do in a regular stethoscope. I use the headset type as I wear Bilateral in canal hearing aides. The only draw back is that I have to replace my headset aprox every 2 years, but at the end of the day...very happy with this stethoscope and have just purchased my second after 12 years!

What a difference! September 23, 2013
Reviewer: Rob Barker from Cypress, CA United States
In the last year I was told by an ENT doc that I had some high frequency hearing loss and unfortunately isn't repairable with surgery.  Recently started a nursing program and found it extremely difficult to hear cardiac sounds, especially for apical pulses.  This Cardionics E-Scope II is amazing.  Although, like others have commented, it does amplify all sounds including the friction from sliding the head around I found it beneficial to add the large over-the-ears headset to help cancel out extraneous sounds. I can't wait to try it while in the back of a noisy ambulance.
This unit has over 60 trim settings for volume control making it rather easy to adjust to your liking.  It also has two modes for the different frequencies of breath and cardiac sounds.

Pros: Good volume range. Cons: Far too much background and tubing noise no matter how still you are.
