Pros: I received this stethoscope for my birthday and couldn't be happier. As a nursing student, I was using the stethoscopes provided by my school and had a hard time hearing anything. I received this stethoscope very quickly (with my name engraved on it) and couldn't believe the difference in what I was able to hear. The acoustics are awesome! This is a great stethoscope that I would highly recommend.

Pros: The engraving looks nice, and shipping was prompt.

Cons: The plum color is very ugly, and not purple at all. It looks more brown and is very dark. I was not extremely impressed with the quality of sound for the extra money spent on this model. I regret spending so much on it, especially after having it engraved. If it was not engraved and I was able to return it I would do so. I am so upset that I have been using my old one instead.

Pros: Since I knew I wanted to buy the Cardiology III, I started my search with 3M's official website. Stethoscope.com was one of the websites that was listed as an authorized dealer. I went to all the websites in the list, and found Stethoscope.com was the most user-friendly one with excellent price. Delivery was quick as you see in other comments, too. If you are not home during the day, you may want to use your business address instead of home address for delivery. That way you don't need to go pick up your stethoscope at the post office, or have it re-delivered on another day. Since it requires your signature at the time of delivery, post officer would not just leave the parcel when nobody is home. I'm very satisfied with the product.

Cons: Color sample on the website was not very helpful. I went to a health book store at nearby collage to check the color, which was a good idea.

I can use it as an adult stethoscope with the bell or diaphragm, and I can also use the same one as a pediatric stethoscope. 2-in-1. Pros: I discovered that my original Litmann from medical school years (14 years of service) had developed a small crack in the tubing. Thus, I went online and received my Cardiology III from Stethoscope.com w/in 3 days, which I thought was incredibly fast for standard service. The instrument is great (and makes me think I should've purchased a replacement sooner), and their customer service left no room for complaint. Pricing was competitive w/ other sites.

Pros: Cost was what made me buy this product. When I got it I tested it out and this product is by far the best with acoustics. I like the earplugs they give you too. I love the light weight of this product, sometimes I forget its even there. I bought this product for my nursing classes so I hope it will last me for years to come.

Pros: My Littmann Master Cardiology came up "missing" one shift and I needed a replacement FAST (tubing was cracked on my other Master Cardiology and it was in for repair). Stethoscope.com was out of the Master, so I "settled" for the Cardiology III and ordered it with fast delivery. This was Friday afternoon and I had my new scope by noon on Saturday in time for my next shift. We live in a rural area so this saved me driving 3 hours to the closest place for a replacement. Highly recommended!!

Pros: It was finally time to replace my old Littmann Classic II S.E. stethoscope. (I left it out in the car in sub-zero weather and the tubing broke.) I am very glad I went with the Littmann Cardiology III! The sound is crystal clear. I can hear so much better than I could before. The ear pieces fit snug into my ear and block out other noises in the room. Nice weight to it. It doesn't feel cheap in the least bit. Excellent quality all around. This stethoscope is awesome. Stethoscope.com delivered my new stethoscope quickly. I chose the optional engraving as I do not want this investment to walk off. It looks beautiful. I am not disappointed! On Dec. 22nd it still had arrived and I called your support line. The woman who answered the phone was a great help. She engraved a new one that day and sent the package overnight for arrival. Pros: In doing research for a good stethascope I was highly recommended to the Littmann brand and then some doctors told me that because of my hearing deficit I would get better quality out of a Cardiology stethoscope. Without having any to really try, I based my decision on the brand, the Cardiology type and then the reviews on this website. When I read that others with hearing problems loved this one I took the chance. I now have my stethoscope and am amazed at how it blocks out the extraneous noise and lets me focus on what I need to hear with clarity.

Pros: I'm getting ready to graduate from nursing school in a few months, and I really wanted to go ahead and get a new, good quality stethoscope to finish up my clinical rotations and to use once I begin working. This stethoscope has superior sound quality over my older, and much cheaper Littmann that I've been using. I no longer struggle to hear heart sounds! Engraving looks good, it was a little challenging to convert the smaller diaphragm into a bell (only because I couldn't get my non-existent finger nails under the removable ring)! Very Happy with my purchase!

Pros: I have only a slight hearing loss, but when I bought an inexpensive stephoscope used by my RN classmates, I heard nothing even in a quiet room. I tried this scope before ordering and was amazed at what I was missing with the cheap one. So far I've had no problems hearing everything we are learning to listen for.

Cons: Maybe a little more powerful and expensive than my needs demand, however I nolonger feel lost and confused when trying to listen for sounds. I've been told to never let it out of my sight or it will "walk away". The stress of loosing it is the only con of this stethoscope.

I don't think spending more on a better scope is really going to help the typical internist or family doc auscultate anything that they wouldn't hear with this. I bought this to replace the Littman Cardiology II that I bought my first year in medical school which eventually cracked after 21 years of use, so i would give Littman good marks on Longevity too. Got it engraved which looks good but the letters are pretty small, you really need a name tag on the scope even with the engraving. shipping was timely

Cons: I felt that the stethoscope was not cleaned off after it was engraved because there was dust and fingerprints on the diaphragm and bell. This was a disappointment to see the first time I opened it. I had to clean it. I was also a little disappointed by the color. It seems to look like more of a burgundy than purple.

The price was considerably cheaper then other places, and the other places didn't offer engraving just stenciling on the tubing (tubing is replaceable and there goes the name). Pros: I am absolutely in love with this stethoscope! I'm a nursing student and struggled through my first quarter of clinicals with a simple prestige stethoscope that I could not hear very well with. I got the Littmann toward the end of that quarter and oh my God at the difference in the clarity! The lung sounds and apical pulse were 100 x clearer, and it was much easier to do the manual blood pressures. I also had my name engraved and my friends love the idea of the engravings on the stethoscopes since stealing seems to be a problem at clinical sites.

Pros: Hi, I purchased this cardiology III for my husband who is an RN. He is having a little difficulty hearing subtle sounds these days with his regular stethescope. He was able to hear things much better with this stethescope and did not have to purchase a more expensive electronic model. The woman was very helpful when I purchased it in early December 2008. Can we receive the free Heart sounds CD? Many thanks, BAO

Pros: My daughter is graduating in May 09 and asked for a less expensive model.....I bought this one for her for Christmas and not only did she love it but, all her friends at school were sooo freaked out when they found out that she had gotten the "best" one for nursing. Apparently, the name littmann and cardio III means a lot in quality. I also had it engraved with her first name. It was delivered in a timely fashion. Thanks for being there!

Pros: Fantastic stethoscope. I have had mine for 11 years, yup, same one, and have had it tuned up and later engraved with my name by stethoscope.com, even though I initially purchased it through Welch Allyn. I recently ordered an engraved Cardiology III for a dear friend who is starting a life as a missionary doctor in a remote part of the world and wanted her to have something that would last. She received it days after I ordered it. Very timely. And they spelled her name correctly. Great job!

Pros: I wanted a new stethoscope to replace my 15 year-old Littmann Cardiology II (which still works perfectly, but is looking a little worn) so there was no question that I wanted another Littmann. Excellent quality, obviously durable, engraving is a nice touch. As a bonus, I was surprised to find a cardiac auscultation study guide with pre-test, post-test, and CD of heart sounds.

Pros: I've been involved in EMS for 21 years as an EMT-B and Paramedic. This is the best stethoscope I've found. It is solid, well constructed, and provides excellent sound quality and sensitivity for both lung and heart sounds, as well as throat sounds. The dual diaphrams offer the ability to use with adults and pediatrics. Having the smaller diaphram also makes it possible to auscultate blood pressures on patients who have large arm muscle mass that prevent the large diaphram from sitting flat over the antecubital region. Delivery was fast and without any damage and the most reasonably priced company out there.

Pros: I bought this "set of ears" as i transition into another world of medicine. i have a litmann select that i have used for 5years now as an EMT-B then on into my medic career. I am now going back to school for an RN degree and felt i was ready to upgrade. I am extremely happy i did! i love my first litmann but i love the cardiology III even more!
